Old Soviet aviation clock of the USSR air force " clock block 55M "
The "block 55M" clock is designed to measure the current time in hours and minutes and to switch circuits in accordance with a given time program in aviation technology. The clock was installed on one of the blocks of the identification system "6201" (IFF) and was intended for automatic switching of identification codes of jet aircraft of the radar interrogator-responder. They have built-in power switches and, unlike regular clocks, a 24-hour dial to avoid a double start to the day. The scales and hands are covered with phosphor time (!) An action (for radioactivity does not matter) that has the effect of a residual glow in the dark after exposure to normal light, or a bright glow in the dark when ultraviolet irradiation of ARUFOSH valves used to illuminate aircraft cabin instruments.
