Description

IMPORTANT - Please Read Before Purchasing:
As a general rule, we do not ship outside the continental United States. In some cases, we make an exception, but all our listings indicate where we ship.
If you are a non-continental US buyer, PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM WITHOUT CHECKING WITH US FIRST.
For some reason, eBay allows this and as a result, we lose all our current watchers when we relist the item. Many times, buyers do not want to pay the high international shipping costs and we must then re-list the item and start over with buyer exposure. Thank you.

IMPORTANT - READ ENTIRE LISTING:
These are new old stock gasket sets from around the 1940s that have been in storage since the 1990s. The front of the Indian Genuine Parts folder (side with colored logo design) is in fairly good condition - for the most part, there is just dust and slight imperfections from storage and age - there is generally more damage to the right side of the folder due to storage position and where more water damage occurred. The reverse of the folder does not have a logo and may have handwritten fitment notes, fingerprints, dust, etc. Every folder has different imperfections. Some sets appear to have never been opened, but due to age, we opened to verify that gaskets were still inside. Gaskets seem to be in usable condition, but in some cases, were stuck together (majority are paper) - we carefully separated them, but there may be creases and crinkling in some cases. All folders may have dust, mold residue and /or a moldy smell due to water damage and age.
Listing includes ONE gasket folder and set of 12 gaskets. Photos of more than one folder are provided to match description notes regarding part numbers and quality.
Great for display in a man cave, shop or framed!
These came from Jack O'Leary's shop in Austin, TX - he  was in business from 1947 to 1992 and sold AJS (A. J. Stevens & Co. Ltd), BSAs, Indians, Matchless and Vincents. We believe these gaskets are from the 1940s (see
FITMENT - IMPORTANT
below).
We are primarily selling these for the Indian logo folder since many people love to collect or hang these.
IF YOU ARE PURCHASING THIS SET FOR ACTUAL GASKET USE, please send us a note and we can try to ensure that as many gaskets as possible are in usable condition.

FITMENT - IMPORTANT:
-  We do not have an Indian gasket fitment list and do not know which years this gasket set fits.
-  Per the handwritten note on the back of some folders, we believe this set is for a 741 with a 45 cubic inch engine.
-  This also matches a historical site we found that relayed the following: The Army considered the 640 satisfactory after extensive testing; it was durable enough and did what it was supposed to do, but had one drawback—it was slow. T
o address the power deficit, a second model, the 741, was created. Outwardly identical to the 641, it used the civilian low-compression version of the 45 cu in Sport Scout powerplant.
It appears the 741 was manufactured from 1935 to 1945.
Usage Note:
For older gaskets, we usually recommend soaking them in warm water for 10-15 minutes to make them more pliable and to ensure original size. Due to the age of these gaskets, be careful!
Mailing Note:
This gasket will be reinforced with cardboard on both sides for protection (vs. just an envelope).
