This unit was activated as the 25th Air Defense Division
under the 4th Air Force at Silver Lake Air Warning
Station, Wisconsin on 25 October 1948 and was the
first Air Division for Air Defense
It was redesignated as the 25th Air Division (Defense)
on 20 June 1949 and was placed under the Air Defense
Command on 1 April 1949
It was reassigned under the 4th Air Force on 8 July 1949;
the division was attached to the Western Air Defense Force
after 10 November 1949
The 25th Air Division relocated to McChord Air Force
Base, Washington on 14 September 1951 and was
inactivated on 1 February 1952
It was activated 1 March 1959 as the 25th Air Division
(SAGE) under the Western Air Defense Command
The division was reassigned under the Air Defense
Command on 1 July 1960; it was redesignated as
the 25th Air Division on 1 April 1966 under the
4th Air Force
It was placed under the 10th Air Force on
15 September 1969; it was placed under the
Aerospace Defense Command on 1 December 1969
It was reassigned under the Air Defense Tactical
Air Command on 1 October 1979; then under the
1st Air Force on 6 December 1985; it was inactivated
on 30 September 1990
This patch was made in 1970; rarely seen item!
